The Youth Programs at Ziegels Union Church offer activities for children and youth in Kindergarten through Twelfth grade.  We invite everyone from our congregations as well as our community to be a part of the fun, learning and service.  The Thunder Youth Group is for children in Kindergarten through Fourth grade, the Lightning Youth Group is for youth in Fifth through Eighth grade and the Firehazards Group is for youth in Ninth through Twelfth grade. All groups are open to those who would like to participate.

“Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all the earth: make a loud noise and rejoice, and sing praise.“ (Psalm 98:4)

The Thunder Youth Group for ages K through 5th Grade meets the second Saturday of the month, September through June, from 10:00 a.m. to Noon. During our time together we explore a Bible lesson, enjoy a craft, music, games and make our own snack. All children invited to attend and share in the fun. Friends are welcome!

As "Lightning" we aim to cast a bright flash of light to help others find their way to God. Matthew says, "we are the light of the world." Therefore we can reach out into the darkness of other people's lives and shine His light on them. "It is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness," ..… as more candles are lit, the darkness is weakened.

The Lightning meets twice a month for fun and youth Fellowship. Movie nights, board game days and game cube nights are planned throughout the year.  Special events such as dances, miniature golf, bowling and roller skating are planned as well. In January we attend the Youth Quake in Harrisburg, which is an annual weekend event that features Christ-centered music, speakers, workshops, small groups and social activities. All youth in fifth through eighth grade are invited to join us.

A "FIRE HAZARD" is something that poses a risk of causing a fire. The Ziegels Senior Youth Group calls itself "THE FIREHAZARDS" because contact with them may cause others to catch on fire for The Lord. See Acts 2:3-4, Luke 24:32 and Psalm 18:28  As "FIREHAZARDS", we believe God wants us to be loving and compassionate, by witnessing to our world through learning, teaching and serving others. We believe our joy in Christ will lead others to catch on fire for the Lord.

The Firehazards meet twice monthly for events such as Wii and pizza night, paintball, softball games and game nights. Throughout the year we also plan starv-a-thons and sleepovers.  In March we attend the Youth Congress in Virginia Beach, which is an annual weekend event that features Christ-centered music, speakers, workshops, small groups and social activities. All youth in Ninth through Twelfth grade are invited to join us.

Thunder Youth Group:    Meetings are held on the second Saturday of every month from September until June. We have lesson time, a craft project, games and snacks. All children in K through 5th grade are invited to attend. Parents are also welcome to stay and enjoy this time with their children.
